In previous series "All about Autodesk App Store", we have discovered many features of the old AUTODESK App Store.
This year (May 2026), Autodesk has totally upgradeD their old App store. The new store is now called:
AUTODESK Design and Make Marketplace
To keep up with the AI trend, Autodesk has completely revamped its App Store.
Instead of only focusing on the Desktop Apps as before, this time Autodesk has clearly defined three types of solutions: Desktop Apps, Cloud Apps, AI Tools.
Currently, Desktop apps still dominate (93.9% of apps), followed by Cloud apps (5.9%) and finally AI tools (only 0.2%).
Desktop Apps: 4616 Cloud Apps: 291 AI Tools: 8 (counted as of July 2026)
This article focuses only on some of the improvements/changes that the author considers important.
Previously, when you purchase an App license on Autodesk App store, the license(s) are tied to the Autodesk ID that made the purchase.
Now, you can freely assign your purchased license(s) to any Autodesk account(s). This applies for previous purchases and new purchases.
The most interesting thing of this license transfer feature is that: The master account can unassign itself to make one more room for another account. That means: You are the buyer, you can grant all usage rights to other accounts; you only retain distribution rights.
Click View All products, the Filters on the left and Sort by on the right will be shown.
The new Filter: Solution type allows users to switch between Desktop Apps/ Cloud Apps/ AI tools.
Language is now become a filter instead of a drop-down option as before. Apps versions from all languages are shown if you do not set this filter.

One change that I consider a "step backward" is: The Sort by feature now lacks the most important Most download option
New users find it very difficult to find useful apps that are recognized by the community without Most download sort. The "Sort by rating" option has a serious flaw because it cannot automatically filter out fake 5-star reviews.
For example, 1st most download App Lumion® LiveSync® for Autodesk® Revit® cannot be found by rating sort because its average rating point is only 3+

The search bar has removed the Publisher search mode.
The presentation of app information has changed significantly, perhaps to better support mobile devices. The information is divided into 5 sections: Overview, Details, Ratings & Reviews, Support, and FAQs, along with shortcut links for easy searching.
A drawback of this presentation is that the User guide and Version history are somewhat hidden. You have to find the small "User guide" text in the Support section and click on the Version number to view the version history.
Autodesk has made a series of instruction clips for the new Autodesk Design and Make Marketplace. These instructions were made quite early, before the "Sort by" options are added. However, their content is basically accurate.
