CUSTOM .NET SUBASSEMBLIES
CUSTOM .NET SUBASSEMBLIES
If we imagine a Corridor as a machine, then the SubAssemblies are the components of that machine. The alignment, profile, and assembly objects are like component assembly diagrams, with the subassemblies assembled sequentially in a chain. However, such modularization approach has certain limitations:
- The Chain Assembly Rule in a cross-section means each subassembly can only connect to the immediately preceding subassembly through an Attachment Point;
- The irregular existing ground surface cannot be modularized, yet it is an inseparable part of the Corridor;
- If a subassembly must include the existing surface, it will have many variants depending on: the relationship between the Attachment Point and the existing surface, existing surface slope ...
Why use .NET custom SubAssemblies
Compatible with multiple versions of Civil 3D from 2015 to 2026
Build faster than .pkt SubAssemblies
More powerful: Can target design surfaces and dynamic feature lines, support cover complex logic and advanced calculation
Stripping-Benching:
3 modes support: Top soil stripping, stripping + benching simultaneously, stripping then benching.
Can apply to part-fill segment in a part-cut part-fill cross-section;
Flat stripping bed (optional).
Dual target surfaces (one existing surface and one design surface)
Dynamic Feature lines can be used as left and right width targets.
Custom Shape code and Link code (optional)
The custom Stripping Benching subassembly is a special subassembly for the following reasons:
- It does NOT follow the chain assembly rule like other single-attachment-point subassemblies. The left and right edges of this subassembly need to be attached to the left and right slope toes;
- Sometimes, the subassembly edge is attached to the cut/fill transition point, which is not defined by any other subassembly;
- The subassembly must be built last, after all other subassemblies have been built.
- The shape of the subassembly (width, depth, etc.) depends significantly on the existing surface.
DaylightBenchQuarterCone_V2
This is an upgraded version of the original DaylightBench subAssembly
The following parameters are modified:
Cut slope, Fill slope: May vary from start cut (fill) slope value at region start station to end cut (fill) slope value at region end station;
Bench width in cut (fill): May vary from start width value at region start station to end width value at region end station;
LaneOutsideSuperLayerVaryingWidth_V2
This is an upgraded version of the original LaneOutsideSuperLayerVaryingWidth subAssembly
Additional Shape codes and Link codes are added to the 5th to 10th layers
LaneInsideSuperLayerVaryingWidth_V2
This is an upgraded version of the original LaneInsideSuperLayerVaryingWidth subAssembly
Additional Shape codes and Link codes are added to the 5th to 10th layers
